WANTED: Stolen Abel

If someone tries to sell you a Red Abel with a Gold Handle...think twice.
It's hot merchandise. A matching Abel like the one above was stolen during the Trout Opener from Gates Au Sable Lodge. Keep your eyes peeled on eBay, Craigs List, etc.
To the individual that stole the reel: You Suck! Give it back!

Just passing on the note from Josh @ Gates Lodge.
A note to the person who stole our other Abel Reel Challenge reel on Opening Day, 2010: you still need to fill out your promotional paperwork in order to get your free Abel hat!

Red reel, gold handle. Abel doesn't make another one like it, so it should be easy to spot someone using it on the river. If a person would like to return it, then ship it to us no questions asked.

Outfitters North Report - PM

Here is an up dated fishing report from Jeff @ www.outfittersnorth.com

The Pere Marquette is starting to slow down for Steelhead now. With really warm weather and low clear water, the fish have come and gone very quickly. Trout fishing though has started to pick up with Streamers and Dry Flies. Now all we could use is some rain to stain the water which would only make the streamer fishing better. For surface action, it's been a lot of Hendrickson's last week. Streamers try little Parr patterns in White and Olive or Sculpin patterns in Brown and Olive. This has definitely been a weird spring up here as far as Steelhead weather, we have really seen more summer trout weather. Not the nasty days of Steelheading. I'm not complaining though the Morels are coming up,Turkey Season has started and this weather is awesome for Mountain Biking. So get out and enjoy it.

Hawkins Fishing Report

From www.hawkinsflyfishing.com
Thank you to all that joined us on trout opener, it was a pleasure sharing the weekend with you and once again seeing new water as some of the big fish haunts opened up once again! Streamer fishing for mid size trout was honestly pretty good, as 12-16" trout came to the fly hard and were in the mood to eat on Saturday. While Sunday after a night of cold rain, made fishing difficult. Fish did not seem to have the same spunk as the day before. The river from top to bottom looks good and early trout predictions for the year look good. As weather this week trends back to warmer and sunnier, dry fly fishing should really start to take off. Black caddis, brown stones, and some remaining Hendrickson's will bring fish to the surface.
