The Pere Marquette is fishing well for Trout. The rains we received last week was a blessing. The Trout fishing became better and better as the week went on. Streamer fishing was the method of choice with a nice stain to the water and the cooler temps. Did see a few bugs as the afternoon's started to warm. The water is dropping fast now and starting to clear so streamer fishing will slow down a bit. With the warmer weather we saw Sunday I'm looking for Dry Fly fishing to pick up with Sulphurs and Gray Drakes on the menu. Flies last week were Streamers in Black,White and Olive. For Dries try in the evening Sulphurs,Gray Drakes and Bigger Brown Stones. If intersted in some Trout fishing not only on the Pere Marquette but Manistee and Muskegon rivers e-mail me or give me a call I have a couple open days left next month.
Trout flies so far have been small Streamers in Whites and White /Olive in mornings, afternoons have been Black,Olive or Ginger. For Dry Flies try Hendricksons, Small Stones,Caddis and don't forget about some big attractors such as Wulff's,Sofa Pillows and Chernobyls. Also in the evening start throwing some Sulpurs and Gray Drakes around it's only a matter of time before these patterns start getting good. If interested in some Trout fishing, you can contact me by e-mail or give me a call. I have a couple days left tyhis month and a few in June.
